    TDA??

looks like we traded a better back up catcher plus others for another back up catcher, then signed that backup catcher to a multi year deal..

Hoping TDA can get another big hit though...

Looking at the stats, T'dA is 5-33 vs Nola in his career where Murphy is 2-8 with 4k's vs Nola

So no obvious advantage.....i'm wondering if some pitchers don't like the way Murphy calls the game

On that note, I think you would want the best Framer for Elder.. who is prone to walk and nibble a lot.

That was my theory back when it was obvious it was a problem.

TDA hit a homerun, so he is the hot hand. It’s nothing more complicated than that for Snithead.

This is 150% the rationale here.

I'm starting to think Murphy will get traded this offseason. Albeit he doesn't seem like someone that is not well-liked, the writing has been on the wall all year that Snit always had a bias to overplay TD. He hit 220 for the season and Snit was still dying to get him time.

Given how badly Murphy has played the last month and change, I can't even complain about it anymore - though I will always go down on record that the Braves catcher management this year was a travesty. We gave Ozuna every opportunity to play out of a slump for 2-years, we did the same with Rosario, etc. but for some reason when Murphy slumped it went to he can't play more than one game in a row. As such he never got going, and now we are in a scenario where we just have no idea if his bat / confidence is in a form to deliver in the playoffs

I really think Murphy and co are hiding an injury from all the HBP's he's had. On top of that, catcher is the most brutal position on the field bar none.

I'm interested in seeing what his pop up time the last few weeks and first few games of the postseason are, because he honestly didn't look all that sharp throwing either.

His exit velo I think has gone down a bunch as well.

Yeah, I think his nursing an injury that the Braves have kept quiet about. Something happened around the All Star break. He was the best catcher in the game before that point and after that he was one of the worst. I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up having some minor procedure done after the season.

Why? He was brutal behind the plate for the Braves

TDA has 10 postseason homers. Which is 2nd most ever for a catcher.

Big catches have been awful since the break, so a hr by TDA the other night seems a good reason to me. If we win today, it'll be bc of offense

No surprise, but the Bravea have already announced Strider for Game 4.

Between @Philly, Elder starting, some level of TD vs. Murphy frustrations, and the overall offensive struggles these last two games, its about as bad of a mojo going into a playoff game that I can remember coming off of a victory.

Hopefully this gets requoted today at about 8:00 as the Braves roll to a 9-2 victory today...Just unfortunate that a 1-1 playoff series comes down to us relying on Bryce Elder.

I really do think it’s an injury - and I’d much rather have TDA in there- I trust him to get some big hits tonight in this “make Bryce Harper cry” party.

I agree with all of this - I even question the playoff ability of the GDT starter…….

SO - to combat, I am summoning Jobu, Cy’s Mom, and requesting that Mississippi start double fisting the silver bullets right now.
