Not saying he'd be remotely close to starter quality, but he'd be a significantly better option than Adrianza if something happened to Arcia.
    SVOD - means what exactly ?

    Did Chris Russo really compare the hushed free agency of Ohtani, a JAPANESE player, to the secret Atomic Bomb development?

    Heyman: Only medicals and minor details to go on Juan Soto trade talks with the Padres and Yankees. The principles are telling folks they expect the deal done fairly soon. Once done, NYY will also get Trent Grisham in deal to back up their revamped starting OF of Soto, Judge and Verdugo.

    But more famously tagged to Horacio Ramirez, or his other favorite knickname: Horrible Ratios Run-mirez.

    I'm still amazed that in 2008, in 37 relief innings he had a 4.37 ERA and a 3.67 FIP with a K-Rate of 3.1.

    Coincidentally, I can't help but think of Terrence Moore's annual "Griffey to the Braves? It could happen" article at this time of year. Just doesn't seem like the off-season without it.

    Juan Soto trade agreement is being finalized now, source confirms.

    The deal, as
    @JackCurryYES
    and
    @Joelsherman1
    reported, sends Soto and Trent Grisham to New York for Michael King, Drew Thorpe, Jhony Brito, Randy Vásquez, and Kyle Higashioka.

    Am I correct that NY gave SD a bit less for Soto than the Padres gave DC?

    He had 1 year control compared to 2.5 when SD got him. But that's a pretty big haul considering they only had 1 year left of him or he walks.

    I was surprised the deal included three major league players. I thought it would center more on prospects. Thorpe and Vazquez are both in the Yankees' Top 15, but outside of King and Thorpe, I don't see a ton of value heading west.

    Not really close, imo. Granted I know very little about the Yanks farm.

    Yankees didn't give up a single prospect/player close to the level of CJ Abrams at the time of that trade. And this trade is pitching heavy which carries a good bit of risk as we know. But it's still a good haul for SD for 1 year of Soto. Thorpe is likely the most valuable piece, depending on how you view King going forward. Thorpe is likely on par with AJSS in terms of value. Vasquez has some talent. Brito doesn't look like much of anything. The last gu isy is 33 and sucks.

    Michael King has pretty disgusting stuff but he's about to get expensive soon, but he's 29. It's not a great haul but i'm not sure who is giving up more one year of Soto. Yankees held onto Dominguez, Volpe, Wells, and others.

    Yes I meant King not Price. Not sure where I got Price from. He's very good. Comparable to Hader. Could start or be a high leverage reliever. But he's 29.
