Well, it’s the Hall of What Happened. Not the Hall of What Could’ve Been.

I’m sure Mauer’s bilateral leg weakness wasn’t his fault, but it sure impacted his career. And he didn’t have power to start with, and then he became a $23M/yr 1B averaging two WAR a year. For half a decade. He should’ve been first ballot in the Hall of Very Good.

Maybe Hall of Overpaid. I know they loved him up there, but he really absorbed way more than his share of the resources on a team for which they were scarce.

I am pretty sure that Anderson is out until at least June. Ynoa will be available beginning of spring.

Some mildly intriguing minor league numbers, especially when it comes to plate discipline. Still, just roster flotsam.

I had a lot of questions for those 10 seconds where I thought we signed JD Martinez.

AA is filling in the AAA OF with AAAA players. They are reasonable options for a MLB bench slot, but I'm still holding out hope for a real MLB RHH CF-capable OFer to make the bench a solid unit. TDA and Fletcher is a pretty good start, and they just need a legit 4th OF to protect against injury and a Kelenic meltdown.

I imagine we won't do much of anything else and instead wait til the deadline if we need to add some sort of decent OF.

The best argument I have seen is that the 1st 10 years of his career is behind only Piazza, Bench, and Berra in terms of value. But it seems like you could use that argument for Murphy and Druw and neither one are currently in the HOF.
Yes, that's frustrating for the many players who were good for a decade and told it was not enough.

It's pretty arbitrary who gets the benefit of doubt on a short prime.

The AAA guy seems like a very Braves play. Someone with very recent success and some tools to back it up.

Not a bad flyer for a cheap fourth of.

Max Fried said he’s excited about 2024, respects #Braves’ way of keeping stuff private. “I’ve spent the majority of my career (here). This is really all I know & the organization has been nothing but supportive. The fans & city have embraced me. I’ve really enjoyed my time here.”

To me this sounds like a precursor to a goodbye message next offseason

I have no doubt. I don’t see AA blowing the money it’s gonna take to land Fried for a pitcher that’s gonna be in the second half of his career and - at least to me- is a moderate injury concern. Especially if he wins the Cy - he’s gonna be even more absurdly expensive. My guess is not Dodger blue though, but rather pinstripes for something crazy like 300 million.

Pretty sure we just enjoy Fried’s massive platform season then wish him well when he goes back to CA.

The Tigers just gave 50 FV prospect who hasn’t played an inning in the majors (not even ranked in Top 100) $29m guaranteed.

Can't believe they put a gun to his head and made him sign that.
