    @JimDuquetteGM and @JimBowdenGM on Alex Anthopoulos's multi-year extension with the #Braves:

    They speculate that the deal is somewhere between 50-70 million but since the Braves are a publicly traded company it will eventually be disclosed

    The Braves are pretty much set for 2024 and 2025, but after that things are going to get very interesting as the Albies and Acuna deals run their course. There currently doesn't seem to be any position player talent in the farm to step in, which makes Kelenic vitally important.
    We’ll see if he’s capable of a clean transition without the need for a long rebuild. Producing players like Harris and Strider in the middle of it is a good start.

    It’s the hardest thing to do in the sport, and it makes me appreciate the risk they took on Kelenic a bit more.

    Glad it got done. Interesting he signed through 31 when some of these contracts expire (Fried, Acuna, Albies). Although i think he gives Acuna a whopper to keep him a lifetime Brave. I can see him let Albies walk, and hope someone like Perdomo eventually replaces him (too early for that).

    An Acuna mega contract would be interesting. He wouldn't necessary be around when it becomes a burden to the team financially. If there was ever someone to do the deferred years for like the Dodgers do it's him.

    Well, i dont know if you can let Ozzie, Acuna, Fried, as well as Dansby/Freddie walk. I think he'll pay at least one of them. Acuna would seem like the best bet even though it'll cost a ton of ****ing money. Would think that deal would depend on the years more than the annual salary.

    Extend Acuna and Ozzie as a combo package

    Albies worries me long term. Not entirely sure I want another long term deal for him. I would try locking up Acuna again after next year. I dont know if we can or will make a run at Soto next year but I would go a little extra hard on him if it made Acuna more willing to sign a new extension knowing his BFF was going to be here long term.

    Spoiler: they won't make a serious run at Soto.

    They have a ****load of money to spend next year and not a lot of places to spend it. I don't see them spending 60+ million on SP.

    Could upgrade over Arcia. Find a better DH. SP is certainly needed with Max and Morton probably gone, and 5th starter tbd. Everyone would love Soto but you can i both know AA isnt spending 500+ million on him.

    Obviously I think any big time FA requiring a long term deal is not likely. The SS market doesnt look good to me next year, not a big fan of Wily Adams whose main asset is his defense which should be declining in the years we would sign him. I dont think we will be the top bidder for Soto but we are uniquely positioned as a top contender and have his BFF Acuna. If we were going to go big on any FA I think having a 27 year old Acuna and 26 year old Soto entering their prime years is a tempting proposition. Personally I just like the idea that it would piss off both Yankee fans and Nats fans.

    Where could we find a top drawer LHP in FAcy next year?
