Giles will probably be show me what you got in spring then released. I am not sure he wants to spend another season in AAA... Some team will take a shot on him if he has anything left, but I doubt he can crack the Braves pen unless he is old Toronto self.

He's gonna light up ST, make team, give us a really strong April, and then completely fall apart, but snit will only remember ST and April

Snit is an absolute beast of a babysitter... the team loves him, and I don't think that's a small thing. He is pretty bad at in-game decisions though

Why wouldn’t a player love him. He lets them do whatever they want. Not saying that is a bad thing. But it is Jt like he does anything to garner respect. Just inks in his core every single day.

And no one cares if we have a good manager. Just anyone better than this relic of a manager. Someone that understands resting players is a good thing. Someone that understands high leverage BP usage isn’t determined by the inning it is happening in. Someone who understands that a very average pitcher should never face a lineup 3 times and never twice in the playoffs. Especially when that lineup has lefty crushers at the top. Someone that doesn’t nap in the dugout.

So people can say braves fans complain about twitner too much but when he at least grasps those basic concepts then hoping to get someone who does isn’t a huge ask.

Most fanbases think their manager is an idiot.

Kind of a sneaky under the radar move. Dude was insane when healthy. If he can prove he’s back from TJS, could be an underrated move

I'm not an expert on Giles, but he seemed to have a reverse-Steve Blass thing going on before he got hurt. He could locate his fastball just fine and with good velocity, but (and this is admittedly drawn from limited viewing) he started to overthrow his breaking stuff and bounce 55-footers up there.

Yates, Nick Anderson, etc. Take your pick. Braves have had decent luck with these types of pick-ups.

As per Snitker, we used to sit around and say a lot of the same things about Sparky Anderson back during the Big Red Machine days. Managing is easier when all you have to do is remember how to spell the players' names right. It was a little more challenging for Anderson because it was the pre-Universal DH era so benches were a little longer and bullpens a little shorter, but a great line-up and a reliable set of back-end guys in the bullpen makes decision-making a lighter burden.
