    Bit of a stretch.

Nacho’s primary position at this point is pretty much SS. With Prado it was more like “crap we don’t have anyone else.”

But hey Freddie was a third baseman!
Someone called him Prado that could play SS, insinuating that Prado couldn’t play SS. I was simply defending my boy. But, take it however you want to take it.

Perusing the transaction wire from March, I came up with these moves by the Braves. 2023 7th-round pick RHP Justin Long (not the actor) was placed on the full-season injured list as was RHP Jose Chavez. Long pitched in one game last summer in the FCL after signing for approximately $50,000 under slot. Chavez has pitched two years in the system: 2022 in the Dominican Summer League and last year in the FCL. Braves also released INF Elian Cortorreal. Only thing interesting about Cortorreal is that he had unreal walk numbers, but that was about it. isoOBPs of .196 in the DSL in 2022 and .239 in the FCL in 2023. Looks good on paper until you see that his BAs were .190 and .220 in those years.

Baldwin as well. Should be a somewhat interesting team to watch. I saw from the Braves' transaction page that Zach Logue will be in Mississippi as well.

If that’s the case then he will fit right in on the AAAA shuttle the rest of his career.

That's a [Aaron] bummer... his line looked good. Maybe he's still working the strength back up as he didn't have much ST action... if he can get back up to topping out at 94-95, I think he will be effective with good control.

He’s never really had good control.

    Effectively erratic

Well he had pretty good control yesterday which was my point. Also, the year he broke his hand he was up to 17 starts and was only giving up 2.47 BB/9 innings. That's a lower number than Strider... before he broke his hand, he really started finding the control part of his game.

I have basically no hopes invested in Ynoa, but it was his first appearance since 2022. Let the guy work the rust out before obsessing over velocity.

About 24 hours from games getting started, and still not a single roster for Double A or below. No idea why the Braves do this every year.

I really think it's childish bordering on the unprofessional. They don't owe us anything, but you'd think they would at least try to accommodate fan interest.

I'm not really sure why they're so secretive about everything. A lot of other teams have Twitter accounts dedicated to their minor league systems and post game highlights from minor league spring games with data and everything. The Braves try so hard to make everything a secret.

Smith-Shawver is starting for Gwinnett tonight.

Still no Double A roster but they have probable pitchers announced. Ian Mejia starts tonight, Waldrep debuts on Sunday.

    Augusta roster is out: https://x.com/GreenJackets/status/1776263624102682899

Kuehler starting at Low A, top-10 round high schoolers Isiah Drake and Garrett Baumann here as well. And the long-awaited debut of Adam Maier here as well. Also looks like Beau Philip is transitioning to a pitcher.

    Rome roster: https://x.com/GoEmperors/status/1776263536903160195.

Sabin Ceballos starting here, but a rough group of hitters. Hopefully Ambioris Tavarez can take a step forward finally.

Braun, Hackenberg, Schwellenbah, Murphy likely the four starters. No Jhoncarlos Lara on here, wonder if he's hurt.

I've been the only one on the Tavarez train with good reason. That swing and miss was atrocious last year. But there were things to dream on. I've seen some video of him working hard in the offseason and I saw it at a lot last year. We will see.

    Mississippi roster: https://x.com/mbraves/status/1776274677071040629.

Pretty rough outside of Waldrep, Alvarez and Baldwin.
