The Yankees are batting Torres 1st and Stanton 5th. They deserve to lose.
What a tweet by Chipper lol. Gotta read the whole thing. Whew.
Forever Fredi
Chipper is right. All Freddie had to do was tell his agent "get me the most money you can but I dont wanna leave".

If there was a price you willing to stay for and staying in Atlanta was just as important as getting the biggest contract, you should have told your agent not to let the deadline pass without getting a deal done.
Some of that is on Freddie. But at the same time, your agent works for you. And given Freddie's response to what happened, there was most certainly a disconnect between he and his agent. At the very least, Freddie felt like his agent didn't represent him well, as he quickly moved on from Close less than 6 months after signing.

I think everyone capable of rubbing 2 braincells together understands why Freeman isn't a Brave. I don't agree with most of what Chipper says, but in this instance I do...move on. These content creators are just trying to stir up arguments to drive traffic.

The only thing I find aggravating about the Freeman exodus is the "it's the agent's fault" argument that gets trotted out (shades of Furcal). Chipper is right. I think the simple fact is Freeman had a price and the Braves weren't going to match that price. They danced until the music stopped and things then fell as they did.
And before the "Well, if he really wanted to stay in Atlanta . . ." chorus commences, if anyone here wonders why the MLBPA is the strongest pro sports union, it's that they players are more loyal to each other than they are in other sports. It was the same way with Glavine, who was a union rep. These guys are well paid and a few give hometown or discounts based on other factors (longevity with a team being the most prominent), but they usually go to the wall for themselves and for future players (Major league players mostly. Minor league players were ignored until recently.).
That’s some awful stuff by Cole and the Yankees.

Yankees choked that one away. Couldn't happen to a better team.
Well, the last time the Dodgers won the World Series, the Braves won it the following season.
Just putting that out there
Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
Yeah from all report, the money was basically even, but Freddie wanted more guaranteed years at the end and I assume Braves were offering option years like they have in every other big signing they have done under AA.
And in the end, Freddie will likely end up making less money paying CA taxes and having a good chunk of his money deferred. But it's hard to feel bad for someone about to win their second WS ring and a WS MVP, while making 27 million per year.

Ok good the offseason can start now.
I feel no hard feelings for Freddie Freeman winning a World Series with the Dodgers. It would be harder if he didn’t win one in Atlanta. He’s a class act and he deserved the series MVP for his play. Good for Freddie.
Chopping With The Braves And Rolling With The Tide
He says the Braves were a better team than the Yankees.
