    Spencer Strider

Let's put everything in regards to Strider ans his elbow in this thread, separate from any game threads. There is an unknown to the extent of the damage, but we know it's not good and TJS seems like it's inevitable. So, there's that.

Hoping for an Ian Anderson or Huascar Ynoa redemption arc, but....starting catcher already hurt and one of our two aces down a week into the season...already feels like it's going to be one of those years.

At least with Murphy, you have a guy like TDA who would start on a lot of teams. Losing Strider hurts a ton though. We do have alot of depth to cover for him, but come playoff time, you want a swing and miss pitcher.

Apparently Michael Tonkin is available now. What's Josh Tomlin up to these days?

Here's something else, looking beyond this season. Charlie Morton is likely retiring and Max Fried is unlikely to return to the Braves. So looking at Opening Day next season, barring injury, the only one certain to be in the rotation from the current staff is Chris Sale.

Braves will win division easily. But worst part of this news is not getting to watch the best pitcher in the game all year

Sign em now, and make an announcement that he will not be allowed to pitch until he does some counseling or public service.

Hopefully some guys in the lower minors develop faster than we thought. But yes, the future of the rotation is concerning.

Usually about a year. But it usually takes 2 years to get back to your old self.

My biggest concern is keeping fried and sale healthy. I have zero concerns fielding a competitive rotation of 6 guys. If we lose another, it's certainly dicey

Our offense turning into **** is why we havent beaten them. We've pitched fine vs them. Maybe not in 22, but last year pitching wasnt the problem.

Well, we have Waldrep, Vines, AJS, and Elder as other depth. But yeah, probably cant afford to lose anyone else. That Lopez signing is looking kinda good, eh?

We should win the division regardless. Then its just about how good we are in October and thats months away. If Fried/Sale are healthy thats still a good top 2. Who knows where we are as a team then. Maybe Lopez steps up. They already seem to think AJSS is going to play a key role late in the year. Maybe he can breakout. I think people are writing off Anderson too early. I think much of his struggles before TJ surgery was because of the impending injury. Hopefully he can come back and be a quality starter.

Strider seems like a guy who could come back within a year, but with the timing he'd likely be delayed a little more without a full spring training. I wouldn't bet on him before next May/June, and that's assuming everything goes well.
