can someone explain to me the thought process behind throwing a change up 70% of the time as a good idea. Isn't the idea of a change up to fool someone... wouldn't hitters just look for an 80 mph fastball and just foul off the slow ass fastball if he does decide to throw it.

Boy, using Williams sure was a great move. Now the pen has to cover even more innings.

When you have a trash pitcher that doesn't belong here, he doesn't have many options

just release him so maybe another team can pick him up and the Braves can face him later on in the season.

Braves reasoning - let's punt a division game by using AW. At the same time, let's don't rest any normal position guys

I get that and I guess the change is his best pitch, but if all you throw is a change up then is it really a change up or just a pitch that guys can look for. I mean the name itself implies it is something different.. but for some reason Tromp and Wimpass thinks that it means never change up..

The only team he could avoid damage against is the Braves. They can't hit AAAA guys and soft tosses

There's a reason the Braves were able to pick up Winans from the Mets in the Minor League Phase of the Rule 5 in 2022. He's a soft-tosser that the Mets used solely in relief. Mets certainly aren't run by brain wizards, but Winans looked then--and looks now--like a AAAA guy. He had a brief run of success with Braves last season (especially his 7 shutout innings in a game he started against the Mets), but he's totally a change of pace pitcher that has a very thin margin for error. He's not living in that margin today.

Braves gonna lose a rubber game in April. When was their first rubber game loss in 2023, August?

Radio guys making it clear Braves might be more interested in the Masters pool in the clubhouse than the lowly Mets….

If AW can't keep you in a game with the Mets, there's really no reason to keep him. Who you gonna use him against? This is one of the worst hitting teams in baseball

Well his fastball is only slightly faster than many pitchers changeup to begin with. Maybe he figures hitters are used to 95+ so they might not be used to 80 mph non-sliders/curves.

Lol. Pretty sure they lost a series in April. If nothing else, I know they lost a series to the A’s in May.
