Jimenez was a good re-signing by AA. 1 ERA, and .56 WHIP, seems to be a good deal. Malloy has hit well in the minors but hasnt translated to the bigs yet.

This would have been the classic Bobby Sunday lineup for sure…..looking back, he was the master of load management and motivation - “you boys win the first two, and then go have some fun Saturday night”

Not real sure MLB doesn’t strongly discourage such in the marquee national games though

In my mind, the only way to fix the playoffs is to scrap the wildcard and division rounds and have a 15-game mini-season among the 6 teams that make the playoffs. Five 3-game series playing each team, and each series is double elimination, meaning that if you win the first two games you don't have to play the third. The top two teams with the best series' record make the CS. Tiebreaker is overall record.

The other thing I see wrong with the playoffs in the modern era is that it's played completely differently than the regular season. You don't see that in any other sport. This will make teams use their their entire starting staff and should favor the deeper teams.
