Guys struggle, hitters go through slumps.. you just have to wait them out.. but letting someone get a night off and letting another player actually play is nothing but beneficial.

And fans have the right to react and be mad. It isn't that deep.. the players are probably mad and critical of themselves.
    It's a moot point anyway... snit ain't resting 1, much less 3.

It seems to me the Braves tend to struggle on trips out West. The offense looks like a bunch of jet lagged paleontologists trying to play softball.

The players that are struggling will break out of it. We are a month into the season. A day off does nothing but put a worse player in the lineup. If this was late August, September. Sure, some days off may help, but we are a month into the season. We even had multiple rain outs to give them extra days off. The cliches of "so and so needs a day off because he is slumping" and "so and so needs a day off because he looked bad in an at bat" are old and tired and just fans backseat driving.

so you are saying you don't know what load management means.. your idea is to play them until they are banged up/bruised and utterly exhausted and then give them a day or two off at the end.. versus periodic rest to hopefully avoid this.. smart managers are doing this already.. every NBA team does this now. Wonder why..

It's ****ing April and we talking about giving All Stars days off so we can play bums that can barely hit AAA pitching. Load management is fine, but it's freaking Mat 1st. I know all that rest before the playoffs really showed how valuable rest time is. We shouldn't be talking load management of players under 30 a month into the season. The NBA games require a whole lot more physical exertion than a baseball game.

Ronnie played all winter, Olson and Riley are struggling and have pretty much all year. This team is good enough to win if missing a guy here or there. Subs should be ready to play and should get regular playing time.. if they suck that bad, get better subs. Days off is also not just about rest.. it can be about mechanical adjustments, film study, clearing someone's head.. I think every month is the perfect month to rest every player.. and that is if they are hot or cold at the moment.

what was the Braves record with Ozzie out.. that should help you understand giving a guy rest doesn't really affect your overall record.

also, having 10 days off and taking a game off is vastly different.
