Again, the depth would look better each year if we weren't graduating guys at a really good pace.

If the people evaluating our farm are constantly missing these studs, perhaps its time to question how good those evaluators really are?

I understand that you want to rate systems by how good fangraphs thinks it might be rather than by how many players it produces.

I probably agree with you that fangraphs thinks it is mediocre and yet it produces more talent than higher rated systems

    Go figure.

Graduating guys, drafting lower and having more prospects, in general, at lower levels.

Good interview with Schwellenbach about his development of his pitches.

Interesting article about Nick Allen. Points out that he and Arcia are both solid defenders who could make a good platoon at SS.

The numbers they posted for Arcia aren't even close to being correct. He slashed .220/.267/367 against righties last year. He was terrible against both Righties and Lefites last year, though a bit better against righties. For his career he's better against lefties. There's no world where Allen is in a straight platoon with Arcia.

The headline to the article How the Braves Can Best Utilize Nick Allen has an easy response: In Gwinnett.

Allen is out of options so that's an issue

The Braves are once again going to have a putrid bench, especially early in the season when Acuna is out and Baldwin may see more time in AAA.

Tromp, Allen, and horrible DFA'd OFers are barely AAAA players filling the entire bench. It may be the worst bench of the AA era.

Just wait until there's an injury to the rotation or bullpen.

It’s infuriating that we don’t have better backups because our manager refuses to play them.

I am optimistic about DelaCruz. I think he could turn out to be a plus.

You know who have good benches? The Tokyo Dodgers and teams who lack clear cut starters. If you want a good bench then we need several platoons. This idea we don't have good bench players because Snit won't play them is retarded. Kelenic is a decent bench player. Nacho is a quality option off the bench. We obviously aren't finding good bench bats for SS since we are currently starting a bench player at SS.

What an ignorant ass comment. I’m not sure where you’ve been the last few years, but AA confirmed last year that quality backups won’t sign here because they won’t get any playing time. You know, it’s not illegal to have great starters and solid backups to get your starters rest. I know this because the Braves used to consistently have this.

FG just released their 2025 playoff odds. https://www.fangraphs.com/standings/...-05&dateDelta=

They have the Braves with a 65% chance of winning the division, 93% making the playoffs, and 15% to win it all. Of course, this time last year those numbers were 89%, 98% and 25%...and we all watched the Braves barely make the playoffs and then get trounced early.

As bad as this offseason has been, the quality of the last 5 offseasons built a roster that is still very clearly the 2nd best collection of talent in the entire sport.

    When did AA confirm that?

The dodgers at 24% seems high, even with the team they have assembled. Need to find a way to short that.
