Who is the leader of this team?

Is there one? A presence in the clubhouse. We had Chipper and then it was Mac. Maybe Freddie can take that role over.

Jason is the longest tenured Braves position player. Scary thought. He and Freddie is my bet on who takes over as leaders.

The two who seem to keep the locker room loose are Laird and Medlen.

I'd like to see Simmons take a step up into that in the future. For now though I'd say Freeman.

Jason wants to get paid. I can't see him as a vocal leader in the clubhouse. He is out for number 1 in my opinion.

Freeman and Heyward have already shown to be leaders, both on and off the field.

Of course he wants to get paid, so does every other player in baseball. That doesn't mean he's selfish and only cares about his stats. He wants to win just as much as anyone else. I don't know why you are so anti Heyward.

Why would that matter about being a leader? Every baseball player who hasn't hit FA feels like their underpaid. Freddie just got paid, does that mean he isn't a good leader? I love reading your posts, always makes me laugh.

Jason is a leader. You guys are right.

He leads the team in most missed games.

    Now you're just trolling.
All you need is Hart and Cox.

There were articles last year about how Jason had assumed a leadership role with the team and guys were looking to him and McCann.

    • From Cox: “I'll tell you a guy to keep your eye on -- Jason Heyward. He's a huge leader. He is already. He's always done that. I know he’s only 23. But if he says something, you'd better listen. You can just see [he's a leader]. It's written all over him."

Exactly, the same with Freeman too. Just listen to either of them talk, they sound like they're 10 year MLB veterans. Listen to their teammates speak about them, you can tell that they have the respect of their teammates in that clubhouse. Everyone saw what McCann did on the field when he was standing up to Carlos Gomez and Jose Fernandez, but Heyward and Freeman weren't far behind McCann in doing the same thing. Heck remember the game that Heyward got hit in the face in? Something happened in that game and one of the first guys on the field was Heyward to stand up for his teammates. But leave it to Niners to spew some BS about Heyward not being a leader.

And leave it to you to always play the role of blind homer.
