This is a disastrous offseason any way you slice it if you're trying to win baseball games and run a competent franchise.

Letting Freeman walk, trading Langeliers AND Wild Bill for Sean Murphy, etc. The errors just keep piling up.

And don't give me any crap about the Sale trade. Anyone would have traded light hitting Vaughn Grissom, who was never even a top 100 prospect, for the chance Chris Sale would stay healthy.

    Jesus Christ, dude. Log off.

Your Dodgers have won exactly one real title in the last 35 years.

The Braves and Jake Diekman have agreed to a minor-league deal, and he's in camp now. I like this pickup a lot. In 2023, he was fantastic. And he's had a nice career. It could be a really strong move, or it could be nothing. It's a no-lose situation regardless.

This is so bizarre. I am not a Dodgers fan.

You were being reasonable by stating we could have had Pivetta and Jansen.

    What changed?

Yes, I was being reasonable. 100%. Still am.

You, on the other hand, are being unreasonable. That’s what changed.

Is it even worth winning a World Series if your GM only has a bachelor's?

How can you not give AA credit for the Sale trade. I don't care how easy of a decision it was, he still made it happen.. If if there were a few handys in the stalls at winter meetings, AA made it happen.

You're being reasonable by asserting falsehoods about my fandom?

I think Liberty and AA suck. Sorry you don't agree with that.

We need a rich Southern man who appreciates the franchise and will spend like Cohen does and, once upon a time, Ted Turner did.

The Braves window with this current group, as far as I'm concerned, is closed, and it's because we had a D offseason (per Enscheff)

The Mets are only going to get stronger from here as the Cohen Era matures. The Phillies are right there. The Nationals are exiting the most painful part of their rebuild.

Go ahead and insult me and accuse me of being a Dodgers fan like a true homer would.

Maybe you want to list all the minor league AAAA idiots that will fill out our rotation like the other homers do. Haha.

Liberty has given us a top 5 payroll and you're complaining? And AA got us a WS in 21 and you're still complaining lol. It doesn't matter who owned the Braves they would never spend like the Dodgers so you can put that dream to rest.

I've always really liked Diekman, though I recognize that's more about vibes and how dominant he can look in any given appearance than a true reflection of his overall effectiveness (he's got 3.2 WAR for his career and an ERA+ of 108). I think you have to assume this signing isn't going to be anything, but it's probably worth a shot.

The Braves -- and Anthopolous specifically -- have publicly said, over and over and over again, that they believe it's vital to the culture of the team for their regulars to play every day, where they mean "every day" as close to literally as possible. I personally disagree with that, and very strongly so, but I think it's probably best at this point to take them at their word and stop assuming that this is just Snitker not remembering he has bench players and Anthopolous deciding it's not worth the trouble to remind him. It is, I suppose, possible that this is a Snitker thing and Anthopolous has just decided that he isn't going to fight over it, but I think the Occam's Razor explanation is that Anthopolous believes it too.

Yeah, that would be really good for their own players who are trying to make a MLB roster.

AA stated last year that it’s hard getting guys to sign here because Snitker won’t play them.

You may want to reread what I actually wrote.

Claiming something follows sound logic does mean I agree with it, like it, or want it to happen. It’s possible to disagree with a logically sound decision. I literally said exactly that in the post you quoted.

And no, “anyone” wouldn’t have made the Sale trade because nobody else did. Nobody else thought Sale’s injury history was worth the gamble, including the Sox, which is why they dealt him away. If Sale had sucked everyone would have said it was a terrible trade because few people can review process over results.

You are just throwing a temper tantrum because you’re upset the offseason was awful, and it’s exactly the same as whining about a losing streak. The entire organization is still top notch, and the Braves will still challenge for a title.

This is the most absurd statement made on this board since tehteh stopped posting.

I can tell it’s time for ST to start. The Braves fans are so anxious for something to happen that we have lost all sense of hope, and turned on each other.

We need some reports from camp to talk about instead of the off-season.
