this is how I see it. If nothing else, they can dump Cease and/or King at the deadline for a nice return if they are not in it still.

Since I don't see another starter happening, I really hope AA spends a little and grabs the best available RP left out there... who is that at this point.. Robertson maybe?? The pen sort of scares me right now.

A Robertson & Junis acquisition would work.

I think the bigger deal is that the Phillies have an opportunity to jump out to a 6+ game lead pretty easily before June 1, because their schedule is so insanely easy and it puts more pressure on the team to keep up.

So did the team with a dead owner and no tv contract just have a better off season than the Braves??

I’m having a hard time being envious of the team who just gave up draft capital for the right to pay Pivetta for 4 years.

aren't the Friars a revenue recipient and thus only lose a 3rd rounder... not that steep of a penalty if you ask me. They could trade Pivetta at the break for a better prospect than a late 3rd rounder.

Jose Iglesias sure would be nice to stash on the bench or push Arcia to the bench......

Would Igesias honestly cost more than 4 million to sign? And he would be immensely more valuable than Luke Williams. Hell he might even sign for less. He doesn't exactly have a line of suitors bidding for his services.

Why? Nick Allen is clearly the answer.

I still don't understand why we ever got rid of Nicky Lopez. He was the perfect back-up SS.

    ZIPs projections are out

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/the-2025...tional-league/

The logjam at the top of the east seems accurate considering the extra injury risk the Braves have to deal with for superstars like Acuna, Strider and Sale. Most teams don’t have to hold their breath so much with their top 3 players, and most contending teams don’t have such terrible backup options if they go down.

The nonexistent depth of this roster may prove to be a very big problem.

And it's insane bc we had quality depth issues last year and still didn't address it this offseason. Big black eye for AA if an injury pops up which it will.

Almost every move has been about depth. Yeah a lot of the players aren't great but that's what most bench players are. With the apparent budget restraints we were never going to spend 20 million a year to get 3-4 ****ty players when we can get ****ty players for league minimum.

Kelenic is just fine as a depth OF. Nacho is depth for 2B and 3B. Cooper is depth at 1B. We got Murphy and Baldwin which should be good depth for C. With the rotation we got 3 aces and 1 coming back a month into the season. We got 4 decent options for the last spot including 3 former first round picks. The pen worries me but we have a lot of options hopefully a few breakout. Name me the teams with better depth in the rotation than us and I bet all of them have 300 million payrolls.
