Ah - The argument that one can't get a passport to visit. Strikingly similar to the argument one can't get an ID to vote.

Got it but for sure what a MASSIVE hurdle to overcome.

I’m not claiming it an impossible task, I’m claiming the added expense and time delays involved in requiring a passport for the visitation of just *some* prisoners likely violates the constitutional rights of those prisoners.

I’m not asking “most Americans” to care about due process. I’m asking the federal government to.

And we the people (who the government works for) don't really care about murderers and rapists being sent to a prison in another country.

Its an additional deterrent that will help society.

These people would have been treated better in El Salvador based on the information that has been released.

For their sake I wish they would have been.

How about just didn't pull the trigger or didn't put themself in that situation.

    Thats how incentives work out.

Similar to people crossing the border in the millions under Biden because they know NGO groups, funded by our government, gives them free shelter and food.

I’m glad to learn that Constitutionally protected rights are actually just a matter of public opinion now though.

Unfortunately they just weren’t deterred enough by the American prison system. It’s really the government’s fault anybody has ever committed any act of violence.

Clearly not enough - Being shipping to another country entirely? Well, that will incentivize a few to change their minds.

It’s not. Fortunately we have a Constitution to ensure public opinion is not what dictates whether someone is afforded rights or not.

But it is interesting that you respect the laws of the coutnry when it helps the worst people but ignore those laws when it comes to migrants here illegally.

Yeah, so ****ing weird that I might care more about the government following laws than I do about individuals following laws. People drive over the speed limit every day, which constitutional protections should I throw out as a result?
