    Bravos sign Profar.

    REJOICE.

    AA HOTSTOVE HEATING UP.

I think this is a big enough signing that it deserves its own thread.

Halle-****ing-lujah. Well, this is not exactly Alex's buy low model, but he is a professional baseball player who can stand in a corner outfielder spot. Hopefully the deal is for 2 or 4 years since he's good every other year.

Edit: just saw 12-15-15. Not bad!

Just relieved he chose to donate that 1% to the foundation. Very classy.

I like that he was able to shave 3 off the first year.. Profar was targeted at 3/45.. so this was just below that.

AA refusing to sign anyone must have been hard on them

Probably 6th when Acuna is back. You know they'll put Albies in the 2 hole

I still say if his OBP is real, then bat him leadoff. If nothing else to keep Ronnie from trying to steal much.

    Grade C.

Waiting late in the offseason to pay someone their projected FA contract isn't exactly an advanced chess move.

I'm glad LF is addressed though.

    7th, maybe?

    Acuña
    Harris
    Ozuna
    Riley
    Olson
    Albies
    Profar
    Murphy
    Arcia

Before Acuña is back, move everybody up one and hit Kelenic eighth

With recent contracts in mind, I’m ok with the dollars and thrilled with only three years.

I think it depends on who’s hot and who’s not on how the lineup goes, but I imagine if everything is normal, knowing Snit…

    Acuna
    Albies
    Riley
    Olson
    Ozuna
    Profar
    Harris
    Murphy
    Arcia

While RAJ is out, Kelenic in 8 spot, Profar leads off, Harris and Murphy up one spot.

I’ll say it again - now imagine AA pulling something off to upgrade SS. WOW I love the potential of this offense.

Man, I don't hate this outcome - and it's not unexpected - but I was hoping for a different solution. It pains me to have DH-level defense in LF at this price. I haven't seen Profar enough to have a legit "eye-test" perspective here, but the defensive metrics I'm seeing look quite poor the past couple of years. Not "Soler with an injured hamstring" bad, but pretty bad. Maybe he won't regress as much with the bat as most expect, but it feels like he's gonna be a light-hitting DH during the last two years of this contract. I was kinda hoping AA would solve LF in the trade market . . . or even with fringy free agents in a platoon situation.

On the plus side, Profar brings some much needed OB skills and seems really well-liked in the MLB player community.

Nah man, a C grade from Enscheff ain’t bad at all. I think he expected it to be less $$$ since it’s so late in the offseason as to why it’s a C, but I’ll take it from the Chef!

I don't think calling something average is criticism.

AA does not **** gold. He made a perfectly acceptable move, but it was obvious and at exact predicted market rate.
