Not to mention Lucroy is the best framer in baseball. He steals so many strikes it's not even funny.

I wondered about that, too. Maybe Fredi is going to use him with Hale?

I know its one game but everyone was saying the Nats have superior pitching and they maybe be the case but they gave up 7 runs and we gave up 2. Just ironic I guess.

It should come as no surprise that an offense that was feast or famine last year is exactly the same this year since no offensive additions were made. This team has 4 guys (Heyward, Freeman, CJ, JUp) that can reliably put up quality ABs, and two them (Heyward, JUp) are going to end up striking out often at the end of those quality ABs. Guys like BJ, Uggla, Gattis and Simmons are all completely overmatched by any pitcher that can control a breaking ball, and they rely on running into a poorly located fastball to get anything positive. Gattis looked absolutely befuddled against KRod's offspeed stuff, and then missed the mistake fastballs he got in the AB. If you can't hit offspeed stuff, you better not miss the few 90 MPH meat fastballs the pitcher lays in there for you.

I'm not sure how long this experiment with BJ in the 2 hole can continue, but it better be short lived. Even "good BJ" has a poor OBP. I would have much preferred to see JUp step up the plate yesterday than BJ with runners on in the only inning last night the team mounted any sort of threat.

We suck with the dark navy blue uniforms. They're almost like batting practice uni's.

GO BACK TO THE CLASSIC GRAY!
    Forever Fredi

But they always seem to hit well in batting practice.

You have no idea if the offense will be the same this year. It was 1 game. Heyward doesn't K a lot. Better seasons from guys who should have better seasons will go a long way. Way to overreact.

Is there a gif or image from when Fredi shrugged after he won the challenge?
    Someone's gotta have it.

Yeah I love how Freeman Ks more than Jason but Jason strikes out often at the end of those quality ABs.

Freeman has cut down on his strikeouts each season and his walks have gone up as well.

No research, who struck out more per PA last year, Freddie or Jason?

Loaded question is obvious. The answer is Freddie.

It should be the new standard Fredi emoticon.

I guessed wrong. Jason struck out more frequently. 6 something per plate appearance to Freddie's 5 something per.

I would love to know what the Braves record is wearing those things. It can't be good. Remember 2008? It took the Braves like almost the whole season before they finally won a game wearing those things and it's the jersey they were wearing when Tom Glavine got hurt. Those jerseys (as much as I love them) are evil!

Jason struck out less frequently you mean, and you're correct. Jason strikes out less than Freddie and has for most of his career, though he does have the season with the highest K% of the 2 as well.
