Braves have signed lefty reliever Luis Perez

Perez was recently let go by the Blue Jays, it's a minor league deal and he's already listed on the Gwinnett Braves roster.

Good signing if he can get back to how he pitched for the Blue Jays.

Yep, but I don't put much stock in DOB opinion about pitchers. Plus I am not sure if Perez is even all the way back yet (health wise). Along with coming off Tommy John late last season, he also had another surgery this past January to remove "scar tissue" (just a clean up). He is listed as on the 7-day DL for the G-Braves so might be a little bit before he's good to go. Further, Perez is your basic lefty specialist and when healthy he's done very good at it. But he isn't someone you want facing righties much as they have an OPS over .800 against him. While lefties only hit .239 with a .652 OPS.

That said, it is only a minor league signing so nothing to lose here. We could sure use the extra depth in this area.
