Pretty solid performance from Wood. Some say it was rock solid.

Good game all around - Wood, Freeman, Heyward is going to be a good formula going forward. Even Uggla looked good tonight.

That was a somewhat less than auspicious start for Dascenzo. Somewhere, Snitker is giggling. Seriously, though, how do you miss that bad? Did he not know Freddie is a pianoback?

Uggla looked great. He was roasting the ball.

I'm still just really pumped at what Wood looked like. He will get injurred just like all our pitchers do but while he is healthy he is going to be damn good.

I seriously expect him to put the catcher's mask on backwards at least a handful of times this year.

Interesting that Freddi was thinking about putting Wood out there for the 8th inning. That is how much faith the Braves have in this guy. I hope they manage his innings well this year because if we are fortunate to be in the playoffs this year then we need him to be starting.,

And not tired like Julio was last year. I saw ride him a little bit early on while we are thin but once the rotation is back at full strength we should definitely hold back on him some.

Yeah, Wood and Teheran definitely get it done in different ways. I believe that Teheran is going to become a massive innings eater though. His control is too good to not becoming a relatively consistently 7+ inning guy. Once Minor comes back we may have four horses in the rotation. And lets not forget...Gavin Floyd was always the type of pitcher that went deep into games when he was in the AL.

I believe the first two games of the year are going to represent the majority of our season very closely. Two very different games, but both performances are going to be very common.

How can you not be. Many things can happen over a career and I try not to go crazy with smaller samples (which I fail at miserably) but the ceiling with Wood is really high. There is still a lot of 'growth' left to come. The organization just has to massage the early stages the right way and he will be huge!
