    Freddie Article on ESPN

Schoenfield had to make it up to Braves/Freddie fans, so he posted an interesting piece on Freddie and his comps. John Olerud is an interesting comparison, but I don't think he'll hit as high for average/obp.

    http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/po...erud-or-murray

Overall, Freeman compares favorably in many ways to Murray and Olerud. If he continues to hone that strike-zone judgment, it's possible he'll not only continue to hit .300 but learn to pull the ball more often, which would lead to more home runs. Even if he settles in as a .300, 25-homer first baseman with solid defense, that's a good player, one who will be returning to more All-Star Games in the future.

I always thought Olerud and Mark Grace would good comparisons for now. Part of me still thinks he could be a 35-40 HR guy

I don't know if he'll hit 35-40 HRs. I'm not quite sure where his power is, but he is a young dude. I could see him hitting 30 in his peak years.

Freddie is just an absolute stud. He will be one of the best (Top 5-10) for the next 10 years. I just hope the Braves can sign him up long term. He should be priority #1.

I gave an Olerud comp basically at the very start of his career. WHERE IS MY INTERNET MONEY, MR. PRESIDENT?

I can see Freddie doing well in playoff games and leading us to series victories. Hell, he had three hits in last years....well, nevermind.

The Mark Grace comp was always lazy. They're 2 totally different players. Grace was a defensive first, low K, no power 1B. Freddie is a line drive hitting with some pop 1B who's not defensive first as he struggles in the field but is amazing around the bag. About thet only thing that will likely be close between the 2 is BB% and maybe average. I don't think Freddie unless he lowers his Ks will consistently hit .300.

Mark Grace's career strikeout percentage was only 6.9%. Amazing.

Freddie should rock the helmet on the field.

Freeman just has so much raw power that I don't see why he won't hit 30 HR in the future. It's scary how good he is already at only 23 years old.

I agree man...I still think he is underrated. One of my favorites stats:

    LD%

    2010 18.8%
    2011 23.0%
    2012 26.0%
    2013 29.1%

Thats effin ridiculous. His growth has been steady and he is about to get it all together.

He's going to be soooo good when when he leaves us via free agency, we'll get a top 5-10 compensation pick for him.
