Remember back in 2012, where it seemed like every Braves-Nats game ended with Washington pulling some kind of rabbit out of its hat and finding a way to break our hearts in the late innings?
Suck it, two years ago.

Thomas has more velocity than some seem to note, he hit 94 mph against the Nats and hit 93 mph quite a bit too (struck Harper out on a 93 mph high fastball). I really believe we've found a gem in Thomas. I like him as a starter too, so hope to see him get a shot at it again in the future.
By the way...a scary bad stat
Freddie Freeman has been on base 13 times in 5 games and has only scored 3 runs and 2 of those were on his homers.
Scary good...Freeman had 6 walks in 53 PA in April last year...he already has 6 this year.

His average velocity is lower as a starter, sure. But it isn't as low as some have assumed. As a starter like Wood he isn't going to throw as hard to go deeper in the game. Further, Thomas did great starting in AA last year the second half. He'd be in the G-Braves rotation if he didn't make the Braves this year.
