It would make sense for Wood to go down because he probably isn't available for the weekend.

What could make sense is to option Medlen to the minors since he won't pitch again before the ASG and won't be scheduled to pitch until the 3rd or 4th game after the ASG. He has to stay in the minors for 10 days.

    Saturday - 1
    Sunday - 2
    Monday - 3
    Tuesday - 4
    Wednesday - 5
    Thursday - 6
    Friday - 7
    Saturday - 8
    Sunday - 9
    Monday - 10
Tuesday - Medlen can come back to start.

He might not like that but it makes sense to get another outfielder up here for these final 2 games.

But it doesn't surprise me that it's Constanza and his sorry .260/.319/.303 (.622) hitting line that's getting called up.

Good news: Fredi has someone he likes more than Simmons.

    Bad news: It's Constanza.

Actually that's a pretty interesting theory and it could work, don't know if the Braves would do it. Another option would be send Janish back to AAA, although having only one backup infielder is risky as well.

Here's my guess at what tomorrow's lineup would be, assuming none of the big 3 outfielders can play.
    Jose Constanza LF
    Andrelton Simmons SS
    Freddie Freeman 1B
    Brian McCann C
    Dan Uggla 2B
    Chris Johnson 3B
    Reed Johnson RF
    Joey Terdsolavich LF
    Mike Minor P

Day game after a night game so you know it will be Laird catching instead of McCann. Here's what I'm predicting.

    1. Jose Constanza - LF
    2. Andrelton Simmons - SS
    3. Freddie Freeman - 1B
    4. Chris Johnson - 3B
    5. Dan Uggla - 2B
    6. Gerald Laird - C
    7. Reed Johnson - CF
    8. Joey Terdoslavich - RF
    9. Mike Minor - P

Couple of things, I'm not sure you want Terdo in RF, he's more comfortable in LF, so I think you'll see Constanza in CF and Reed in RF, and secondly with all the injuries to the outfield and with the All-Star break coming, I don't think you'll see McCann resting tomorrow, I think you'll see him in there.

I wouldn't know. In the games I saw of Gwinnett this year on TV Joey T has been playing RF.

    EDIT: 2013 Games played

    1B - 8
    LF - 3
    RF - 66
    DH - 10

Jose is going to make everyone forget about Puig. Bank on it. And yes, I've had a few adult beverages.

Jose for BJ doesn't hurt us but losing Justin and Jason is tough.

There's a BJ joke to make there, but it's early and I am a gentleman.

Both DOB and Bowman said wood will join the AAA rotation then possibly join the major major league rotation after the break. That's pretty interesting.

Because Gattis has been out for over 3 weeks and just started doing baseball activites again this week and played his first rehab game last year. He'll get all week to rehab during the ASG break and then hopefully is back in the lineup Friday against the White Sox.
