Puig also had a 383 BABIP last year. Puig is good but not that good. And Heyward has a crappy 246 BABIP right now. That will change and so will his overall numbers. The thing with Heyward is that he's a beast on the bases and an incredible defender. He has averaged over 5 fWAR per 162 games played. The talent is there and he's shown it. The only real issue is being consistent and staying on the field. As he is he an above average hitter with amazing base running and defense which equates to one of the better players in the game when on the field.

Of course he's wrong a lot. He admitted it with FF's rank. But if you celebrate his Simba ranking....

Here it is from Klaw a couple of hours after my post:

    mitchell (blacksburg)

surprised wood didnt make the top 25 even after his fantastic start to the season. Do you not think he will keep it up?
    Klaw (4:39 PM)

I do not, at all. Bad delivery, already blew out once, fringy breaking ball, and that hot start (SSS) comes after he lit up two bad lineups.

No, Puig did not single-handedly ignite them. Their pitching finally stayed consistent with all the talent they had..I mean, bought.
Heyward definitely ignited the offense last year. And he has more potential than Puig, and is an incredible defender.

Not sure i'd have Harper over Stanton.

Stanton is only 2 or 3 years older?

    Decent list though.

Puig wasnt the sole reason they improved but he helped out a lot.

One of the bigger reasons they went on their insane run.

He certainly contributed. "Single-handedly" when back-to-back Cy Young winner is on the squad is a little much.

Yeah because he had an insane 500 BABIP for the month of June when he came up. Puig is a good player but he's not great like he's been made out to be. He cooled off tremendously after that month as he hit 272 with a 815 OPS in his last 77 games.

I like that Marlins team, although they have a ways to go. Yelich has looked good against us since day 1...I think he's going to plague us for years.

Sometimes a great month can be enough to fire up a team, especially if it comes at the right time. Previously, the Dodgers got charged up over one at bat. The old timers here will recall the Kirk Gibson HR in the 1988 WS. It was his only AB during the series and he won MVP.

He's a great pitcher, his name is awesome for innuendos. He's a Georgia boy. What else do you want, really?
To score the boy some runs!

Criticizing K. Law is pointless. It's just too easy. His Middle name should be Considerthesource.
