Mejia's been traded to Seibu in the Japanese League. That seems sad and kind of odd.

Hard to believe that Mejia couldn't get a look in the AL at least.

Here's the Talking Chop link on it.

Guys like Mejia aren't exactly a dime-a-dozen,, but think Mauro Gomez. Pretty much the same guy.

He's a one position guy, so that pretty much eliminates him in the NL and while he's hit well in the minors, I don't know if he's hit well enough to warrant a full-time DH job in the AL. He's be the big gaijin in Japan and have a chance to land some beaucoup yen.

Terdo is heating up again. Hope we can find a spot for him at some point. That guy will hit.

Joey T heating up. Average now over .300. Playing 1B tonight. With Mejia gone he'll be playing there more.

Cody Martin with 10K's tonight. He seems to be missing lots of bats. Thats a good sign for his mlb future.

I like having a surplus of guys like Hale, Martin, Schlosser. You never know when you gonna lose a starting pitcher or two.

I liked Mejia better than Gomez, but it is good of the Braves to let him go where he can make more money in Japan. Plus Hamilton and Joey T both play some first base too so it makes sense for both sides.

It also frees up a 40-man spot for when Venters is ready. But I don't think that was a big consideration as we could always just drop someone like Beato if needed. Beato isn't doing well in AAA and I think he was just a depth pick-up anyway since we had room.

You don't count towards the 40 when you're on the 60-day DL.
