You know, the D'Backs should have one of the best young teams in baseball right now. It's too bad their manager wanted to trade a superstar talent like Upton because he wasn't "gritty" enough. How absurd.

Imagine Upton and Goldschmidt in the same lineup right now.

And what about Trevor Bauer? Did they even get anything of value for him?

Don't forget about Tyler Skaggs and Jarrod Parker. Traded away for very little.

But Kevin Towers sure can build a great bullpen.

I can't believe that guy still has a job. Not because of ownership, but the fan base not running him out on a rail.

Just remember this whenever we're upset with Wren. It could always be worse and KT could be our GM...

Yeah, that. If I were a DBacks fan, I wouldn't rest until that dull-witted shower of dip**** was looking for another job.

Yea he hasnt had many good moves has he. Bauer & Skaggs are good examples of whats wrong there. They move out of town and other organizations...not even ones known for progressing Sp prospects...turn them around. That Reed trade was rough too.

The bad GM always lasts about twice as long as the bad manager does. It makes sense; the bad GM always buys time by firing the manager. When its time to fire the 2nd manager the brass finally realizes who the real problem was.

IIRC, the Diamondbacks extended both Towers and Gibson this past offseason, too.

So are we going to see a dbacks firesale? Could we go after Prado for super sub? Maybe even 2b starter. If he could hit like he did in Atlabnta I think he could really help this team. I know Wren wasn't crazy about paying Prado 11 mill and his value has only gone down since.

I think Chip's already done all the rails around the league, so they haven't really had the option.

I just think Gibson was a flat-out bad hire and I am loathe to hold managers heavily accountable for on-field performance. That said, Towers is no genius. Of course, neither was Josh Byrnes. Towers inherited Gibson (although Gibson took over relatively early in 2010 while Towers became GM later that same season). Gibson is kind of a noted rockhead.
