Why does Fredi think that Laird is a middle of the order hitter?

Best players in the heart of the order, biggest waist in the middle of the order.
    Forever Fredi

It's a simple stratagem: All you have to do to make a player a middle-of-the-order hitter is to hit him in the middle of the order.
"For all his tattooings he was on the whole a clean, comely looking cannibal."

Fredi has always had these zen-like qualities. Unfortunately, very few around here appreciate them.

We're going to annihilate the Giants tonight thanks to Laird batting fifth.

By the way, I hope everyone realizes that fifth is literally the middle of the order. Not 3rd or cleanup.

You can't really overemphasize just how enormous those guys have been since camp broke, and even before then.

This just in: Marlins' Jose Fernandez has gone on the DL with an elbow strain. He has been flown back to Florida from the West Coast for further evaluation.

The spectre of Tommy John surgery arises again.

I don't think anyone fully appreciates the magnitude of their contributions.

the possibility of him going 6-0 vs us this year just went down.

I mean, not to belabor the point, but those two guys have been larger-than-life presences on the team this year. They've beefed up the club in a major way.

Then why is Justin Upton batting second?

Or, did you mean biggest waste?

When a band starts as badly as this thread, they just stop and start over. I recommend a similar plan of action.
