Braves release renderings of new ballpark.

Color me impressed... I see a lot of inspiration from some of my favorite ballparks around the majors.

Below are pictures of the outer view of the ballpark, in the link are more designs of the pavillion/plaza area around the stadium.

Glad they're going with a modern day classic look. Reminds me of ballpark in Arlington a bit. And like San Fran we have our own bay.
    thank you weso1!

Although I don't think any homeruns will be hit that deep to straight away center... lol

Looks like they took many of the key features of casual success from the other Retro-Modern parks. happy to hear that. Keeping kids and non-diehard fans happy is what keeps stadiums full.

Freddie will hit the first SPLASH homer there!
But I think it will be to far to hit one into the water?

What are the deferrals (is this the right word ?) of the stadium?

The actual stadium interior itself looks pretty classic. Looks like some Yankee Stadium influence, Wrigley Roof, Kauffman Stadium, etc.

Only thing you can't really see is straightaway center from homeplate perspective. I can see the scoreboard upper left field. The amenities past the ballpark in the plaza looks great too.

My only complaint as far as playing was I wish the OF wasn't just open to center. Basially for wind it means either everything takes off or everything dies. I think that's where Philly got it right. We'll have to see how it plays out of course.

Could be wrong but I think Cobb County is actually higher in elevation than current Turner Field. I wonder how that will effect it too.

Not particularly but it does look like it has some of the same power alleys as say CBP.

It does look like the BP is really lefty friendly though when the wind is blowing out. Intentional?

This is beautiful. I am a really big fan of this. I think it'll be great for all fans to come and see a game in a place like this. I love how friendly the area is to kids and fans alike. Love it. Interested to get the full dimensions.

My only question is, what features of this ballpark exist that makes it unique to the Braves or are unique to only our stadium? That's the thing I love about many stadiums around the league is the unique features that make them stand out. I don't see any identified here for the Braves.

According to Google Earth, the elevation at Turner Field is 1020', while the new ballpark is in the range of 950' - 1000'.

It is very impressive. Not only the park, but, working it into the new plaza too.... and having the chop house overlooking the field in right, and the plaza both... I think this park is going to be special. Love it so far.
