Some Answers -- And A Couple Of Queswtions -- FOr Braves

Answers -- and a couple of new questions.

Brandon Beachy had his best outing yet -- four innings, four hits, one runs, four strikeouts -- but will likely have two more rehab starts before the Braves commit to a decision. And that's if he comes through Sunday's outing without more pain.
    ---------
It was only a minor wrist strain that had Kyle Wren on the shelf since July 2nd -- he's over it. Wren returning to the lineup Saturday with two hits, including his first professional home run. He's played 12 games as a pro so far, and is hitting .388 with nine RBIs

Friday, July 19th, is the latest of the bobblehead giveaways that have fans going from one end of the farm system to the other. The R-Braves are giving out a limited number of Craig Kimbrel bobbleheads. It's an excellent looking pose, Kimbrel in his deep bend, taking a sing.
    ---------
Thanls to Rome broadcaster Ben Poplin for letting us know that Chris Edmondson, the man who was destroying the Can-Am League before the Braves signed him, injured his left shoulder colliding with the wall in Lakewood. Poplin said he wore a sling for a few days; sounds like separation or dislocation. Edmondson went onto the DL.

Gus Schlosser was passed over in his scheduled start for Missisiippi Saturday night. Details as they become available.

Where are they now? Checking up on recently departed Braves prospects ...

Brandon Drury, still only 20 years old, has moved to the Midwest Leauge and has made new boss Arizona very happy by raising his batting average 100 points and already doubling last year's home run total (.313-11-61). He was Midwest League Player of the Week June 3rd.

Zeke Spruill began the year getting the worst run support in all of minor league baseball (0-3, 1.42), but by June had reached the major leagues (4 games, 4.1 IP, 2.08), but one game after returning to Class AAA Reno, went onto the disabled list on July 2nd..

Hope Wren keeps this up all year. Seems like he could be a leadoff/CF option in the future.

Could Wren be a legit prospect? Or is this like JS Jr all over again where he really just sucks and is going to be in the organization at some point.

Man if Kyle Wren keeps hitting, this could be fun. Don't think he'd be more than a AAAA guy but it would be kinda cool to get him to the majors.

It will be interesting to see how things shake out with Wren, Lipka, Cunningham. Which would you pick as most likely to develop into an everyday major league center fielder.
