OT: Matt Harrison facing spinal fusion surgery

    may be donezo...

Matt Harrison (back) has a displacement of a vertebra in his back and could be faced with spinal fusion surgery.
Harrison also has significant nerve irritation in the back. As an alternative to surgery, Harrison could also opt to live with the condition for the rest of his playing career, a more painful option but one that wouldn't put his career in jeopardy. Surgery would almost certainly threaten to end his pitching career.

Wrong way to think. If you can be any good you will get paid because there won't be any left.

On the same day the Rangers also found out Martin Perez will probably have Tommy John Surgery. Maybe the worst day in their franchise history.

To the extent there is any sort of market for Harang, it might be the Rangers.

But regardless of need, Texas will not give much in return for Harang. OTOH, Is Minor tradeable assuming Santana or possibly Floyd will be resigned. Is Wood a viable trade candidate for a solid return?

Trading Minor or Wood? Can I have some of what you are smoking? Pitching depth is an illusion. Santana, Floyd, and Harang are all on 1 year deals and probably won't return for one reason or another. Unless we are getting a high OBP 2b who plays good defense there is no reason to even consider trading pitching.

Rangers have a surplus of good middle infield prospects: Profar, Odor, Sardinas. That would be their currency for getting some starting pitching.

We are not in a position to trade any pitching. cajunrevenge is right on the mark.

Maybe you need to practice your reading skills as well. I did not advocate trading either of our pitchers.. ....Simply that Harang will not get anything to improve our team and if other things are in the plans of Wren and company, would HE be inclined to trade either of Minor or Wood since we really have nothing else to trade in search of improvements.
