So The Yankees Need Pitching, Eh?

Harang, Pastornicky, and Uggla for Yangervis Solarte. They don't have any particular prospects worth dealing for, but they're willing to take on salary to get rotation help. Solarte would fit beautifully here as an OF that's capable of playing 3B and SS as well.

Wood back into the rotation, promote La Stella, Heyward to CF, J-Up to RF, Solarte in LF.

Santana, Minor, Teheran, Wood, Floyd

CF- Heyward

LF- J-Up

1B- Freeman

C- Gattis

LF- Solarte

3B- Johnson

2B- La Stella

SS- Simmons

Oooo. I'm actually not against this. I really like Solarte.

The Braves would make this deal all day long, problem is the Yanks would laugh in Wren's face all day long at that proposal.

Harang and Uggla for a non-prospect. Realistically we would have to kick in some dough, but it is the kind of deal where we could dump part of Uggla's salary.

It's interesting that Harang's biggest value to the club might in fact be that he allows Wren to unload Uggla on some rich pitching hungry team at the deadline. I'm really liking this train of thought...

The Yankees may value someone like Hale, Martin or Schlosser more than Harang. Since we have three of them and they are interchangeable (somewhat) I would offer the Yankees one of them (or Harang if they prefer) for a non-prospect. We would also pay all but $6-7M of Uggla's remaining salary. In effect we would be giving them a pitcher for 6-7M of salary relief.
