I think the phillies may have. Wren may have over paid a bit to get bj to sign early. Still if the braves get the bj that posted a wrc+ of 110 with plus defense and baserunning they will have a good player.

This team can look like the worst team in baseball, then turn around and have a great week. Rather puzzling at times.

This season, this has held true for just about every team in baseball.

Yeah. And that went down dramatically too when the Twins put both of their CFers on the market.

Good pitching almost always beats good hitting.

but its getting worse, there's too much good pitching and not enough good hitting IMO. Runs down, K's up, pretty much across the board. Think they need to do something, not sure what, they already dropped the mound once.

Give players steroids again?

Honestly I think it cycles. It's done that a lot through the history of the game. There are times when hitting dominates and times when pitching dominates. We are in a period where there is just a lot of really good pitching. The NL currently averages 3.95 runs a game. It was at 4 exactly last year. I think it will go up this year as the weather heats up but the NL hasn't been under 4 runs per game since 92.
