Fredi Gonzalez on the NL All-Star team coaching staff

mlbbowman: Cardinals manager Mike Matheny has placed #Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez on his NL All-Star coaching staff.

I did not expect this. Good for him!

I wonder if he'll throw Kimbrel for 2 innings.

Surprising. Hopefully he can have some influence and get freddie, gattis, jup, teheran, and kimbrel on the team. Probably wishfull thinking that all 5 make it, but maybe 4 of 5.

3 out of the 5 have a great chance, Freddie and jUp, will have a tough time unless they get out of their prolonged slumps.

Screw this, I am gonna send Gerald and see if anyone notices. Me and Bobby had a bbq planned for all star game. Hard to manage from the gut without the beer belly.

Teheran and Kimbrel should be locks. Freeman should go with Rizzo at first. Gattis is probably behind Lucroy and Molina (and always a chance Posey or Montero goes) J-UP really deserves to go.

Jup deserves to go imo. Freddie, Rizzo, and goldy should go for 1B. Just sucks AGon is leading the fan vote. He doesn't deserve to go. I'd like to see Gattis and Lucroy go as back ups. As of now Teheran should be in the running to start the game. Kimbrel will most likely make it as well.

I'd sooner have the guys stay at home, get rested and healed up, and ready to rock and roll in the 2nd half.

Ya, Teheran's stuff is markedly better than JJ's though.

Teheran should go unless he absolutely sucks his next 3 starts, I'd guess. Kimbrel is almost a lock. haha I think Gattis has a very good chance to make it. Freddie and JUP should... more JUP than Freddie, surprisingly.

How could this have happened? I've been on Chop Country for, like, eleven months now, and have been assured repeatedly that Fredi Gonzalez is Gerald Laird's (slightly slimmer) retarded older brother. Is this a Make-a-Wish thing? "I wish to coach first base at the all star game."
