    GDT #68. 6/15. Angels(H. Santiago) @ Braves(M. Minor) ESPN

    Braves lineup:
    1. JHey-RF
    2. BJ-CF
    3. Freddie-1B
    4. Superman-C (Gattis)
    5. JUp-LF
    6. CJ-3B
    7. Tommy-Gun-2B
    8. Simba-SS
    9. Minor-P

Not completely outraged that BJ is in there and batting 2nd just cause there is a lefty on the mound. Let's take this series before a division filled weekend, including the 4 game set in Washington.

    Angels lineup:
    1. Cowgill-RF
    2. Trout-CF
    3. Pujos-1B
    4. Hamilton-LF
    5. Kendrick-2B
    6. Aybar-SS
    7. Freese-3B
    8. Congar-C
    9. Santiago

Maybe another 13 innings and Justin may be able to find a hit.

LOL Fredi never learns, still no day off for Freeman and BJ still batting second... It's long overdue we give Freeman a day off and go with something like this:

    Heyward
    La Stella
    Gattis
    J. Upton
    Doumit (1st base)
    Simmons
    BJ
    CJ
    Pitcher

Note: If we rested Freeman, then Gattis or Justin could bat third and the other fourth. I just thought with Heyward and La Stella in front of Gattis one is likely to get on for him to drive in with one of his bombs. But I'm also fine with him batting fourth or fifth, but the more AB's the better with as hot as he is. Also, I know La Stella is a lefty but he seems to be able to hit righties and lefties well from watching him in the minors. The sample size is small but he is hitting .286 (2-7) vs lefties so far in the Majors. So I am not concerned with him following Heyward who is also a lefty, not even against a lefty like tonight.

That and he is apparently afraid of batting two lefties back-to-back too. La Stella seems like the ideal number two hitter unlike BJ who is just not hitting enough to justify batting so high. Plus batting in front of the big guns would give La Stella more pitches to hit too. I am confident he'd do a better job with that chance than we've seen from BJ but I know that isn't saying much, lol.

My regular line-up would be something like:

    Heyward
    La Stella
    Gattis/Justin
    Freeman/Gattis/Justin
    Justin/Gattis/Freeman
    CJ/BJ/Simmons
    BJ/Simmons/CJ
    Simmons/CJ/BJ
    Pitcher

(hot and cold streaks considered, also numbers vs pitchers)

Note: I'd put BJ between CJ and Simmons in the batting order and hope when he gets on he can steal where they don't have too many chances to hit into DP's as both will do so plenty regardless. Though CJ is the main concern with regard to DP's, Simmons has lined into quite a few whereas CJ's are almost always the traditional DP rather than "bad luck".

Good thing it's a night game, no way he would have played a day game.

since everyone is talking about line up construction I thought I would add my 2 cents. here is how I would have the line up
    La Stella
    Justin
    Heyward
    Gattis
    Freeman
    CJ
    BJ
    Simmons

This keeps the lefty/righty splits like Fredi likes and it is pretty solid 1-5.

I think we should just give Fredi a day (or 94) off.

Bj is a joke. Arguing on a pitch right down the middle. Bad representation of the Braves organization.

I hope everyone saw the stats that showed BJ one of the 5 worst hitters in MLB over last year and half. All while being a bad defender. WOW

Looks good but Freeman is your RBI guy...he shouldn't be any lower than 4th.

As long as they're solo shots he'll be fine.
