    Is the Offense Coming Around

    Slash numbers by month:

    April 238/296/394

    May 241/312/364

    June 263/313/401

La Stella's insertion into the lineup has obviously made a big difference. I don't expect him to sustain the .451 BABIP, but he is very likely to continue giving us a significant upgrade over what we were getting from second base.

The big hitters will obviously go through their ups and downs. Gattis is hot now. Next month it might be Freeman. I'm not worried about any of them.

In some ways CJ and BJ are the keys. We don't need great numbers from them. They just need to avoid being as abysmal as they have been at various points this year.

Warmer it gets the better we play.

    1. We need Gattis to not get excited and forget zone recognition when he eventually cools down.
    2. CJ needs to think right field to keep his hands in.
    3. BJ just need Chipper Jones around so he can get stupid hitch out he has in his swing.
    4. Simba needs to quit swinging for the fences and think right field.

If we can get consistency out of the four above we will be in great shape.

I think the offensive success hinges on what the other hitters do. BJ is terrible and anything he gives you at the plate is a bonus. I think Freeman and Justin are the two most important cogs in the lineup. Get them going again and that is the key to our success.
