Good start from Schlosser. He might be called up to pitch in the double header in Philadelphia on Saturday.

That would make me a sad panda. Philly has a lot of leftes, go with Thomas. Or call up both and pitch both 3-4 innings.

    Chris Harris ‏@CHarris731 2m
#Braves prospect Jose Peraza with his first AA HR. He is now 11-for-20 in the series with a HR and 5 RBI. Kid is going to be a star.,just 20

IDK who Chris Harris is, but he's right. 20 years old!

Ok cool, apologies, you never with people here. Some get upset about people being excited over prospects.

I am one of the "get excited" ones. I like to see the new blood develop. Probably my favorite part of this board.

Fwiw I just read long thorough scouting report on Hursh, and it doesn't paint the best picture unless he develops secondary stuff a good bit more than where he is now.

Yeah, lets trade him for a pitcher that is on the way to Tommy John soon.

    What a brilliant idea!

Also, Kyle Wren with a solid game. Braves need to find a way to get him up to AA.

Elias Arias has been killing it in the DSL. He should be stateside soon since he's a bit older than most DSL guys. He has a great eye at the plate and very good speed I would love to see him against better comp.

For those who can't read sarcasm or glibness in plain text, Peraza is less like Heyward than almost any Braves prospect you can name. He compares mostly to a Furcal, or maybe even a Machado. He's ready to play in the big leagues right now, but where?

He's played exactly one inning at third base in the minors, has mostly played second of late, but is also an experienced SS. What he delivers most, however, is the fact that he is a bona fide leadoff man, the best the Braves have produced in a decade.

Obviously he won't be this hot for the rest of June/July but if its anything close you might have to bring him up August 1st.
