Well , sure enough we are getting rid of the weak spots.
Bold. And necessary.
But who the **** is Chasen Shreave?

Shreve has 76 K & 9 BB in 54 1/3 IP at Double-A Miss., a year after posting 28 K & 22 BB in 42 2/3 IP for same team.

#Braves lefty callup Chasen Shreve, 23, excelled in Double-A, w/ 2.48 ERA, 76 K's, 9 walks, 0.939 WHIP in 54 1/3 innings.
His numbers look very, very promising. Looks like a nasty lefty who learned how to throw strikes this year.

Tough news for Luis Avilan, especially since today is his birthday. #Braves
damn
Shreve has made the step up to nasty this year. He was Mississippi's third closer, behind Simmons and Hoyt, both of whom were promoted first. With Ian Thomas still rehabbing in Florida, he's definitely the best lefty available in the system.

All I can think of when I see this new guy's last name is the SNL Celebrity Jeopardy with French Stewart needing to write down a number, only to write down "ThreEve" ... of course he wagered "$Texas" ... but, it should be quite interesting any time I see him pitch.
A good recent article about Chasen Shreve.

I like the move but I hate the timing, we should've done it before or after his birthday (not on it). I liked what I saw of Shreve in spring training in the past and he's been even better in AA this year. Congrats to the kid and I hope he does great!
