Back to back left handed batters. What are we ever going to do?

Need Tommy up in the order. I know he has done great in the seventh hole but this is the right move.

Completely terrible decision. Leave the order the way it was. Simmons has hit great in the second spot. I alluded to this days ago. Such a mind boggling decision.

I agree. Simmons has done ok in that spot but he still gives up too many ABs for me.

Simmons numbers in the two hole were very good. But he is dropped while BJ stays up top..

You're close, Fredi. Now just switch Heyward and Tommy, and then move Gattis up one spot and Tommy down two.

I find this ironic, since I'm sure you're chomping at the bit to get BJ out of the lead off spot.

Earlier in the year, Tommy moved to the top of the lineup and struggled. That does not mean those two facts are related, and it certainly doesn't mean that the former caused the latter. La Stella's a classic #2 hitter, and he's got about 70 points of OBP on Andrelton. Nothing to criticize here, especially since La Stella and Freeman both hit lefties well.

That's a much, much prettier lineup with Gattis in it.

    Okay kiddo.

Simmons is hitting the best he has all season from the number 2 spot. Tell me how that makes any sense?

Tommy is hitting the ball fine where he is. Simmons hasn't hit like this anywhere else in the lineup. There is plenty to criticize here.

it makes sense because TLS is a better hitter, better OBP buy. Unless he still is freaking out over being up in the lineup. We'll find out pretty quick.

There isn't any evidence (that I know off) that some hitters do better in a particular spot. A hitter might get hot while hitting in one spot. But it is a coincidence. It has no predictive power for how he will do in the future in that spot compared to somewhere else in the lineup.
