Minor's problems are between his ears. He either doesn't have confidence in himself or maybe just doesn't trust his stuff, but it's mental with him.
Let me ask you this, can you count on this rotation to go out and win you 3 out of 5? No you can't. The mets kicked our tails, the Cubs mounted two dang near comebacks,. Right now the rotation is Julio and the maybes. Maybe they pitch well outside Julio and maybe they don't. Take out that stellar April and then look at the number, not a number you can nor should hang your hat on.

Thanks, with all of the negative posts on here, I probably will. I visit this board to get news but then make the mistake of reading some of the other threads. Guess after 38 years of watching the Braves, I'm just tired of all the 'team sucks/ minimal chance to win anything' blather.
Yes in fact you can. And our record reflects that we can. Santana has been terrific for over a month now, giving us a quality start in every game but 1 dating back to June 17. Harang continues to mystify the baseball world with his sub 3.5 ERA. Wood has been nearly as good as Julio, with a 2.93 ERA as a starting pitcher. We have 4 starting pitchers pitching very well right now.
The only pitcher who is not pitching well is Minor. And odds are (given his history), he will get right the ship sooner rather than later. He's always been a much better 2nd half pitcher.

I guess God needs to help me according to CyYoung since I don't know the answer. Minor's history includes rough patches as well. You can't base his future off of a year and a half of good pitching when the 18 months of bad pitching were right before.
I am going to continue to ask this until someone actually gives a legit answer.
Nah, don't let the bastards grind you down. Fight the good fight. We got problems, but so does everybody else. Help maintain some perspective for the sky is falling crowd.
Lots to like. Four starters pitching well. LaStella starting to settle into the two hole. Signs of life from BJ. Freddie going to left center. Gattis back. Shreve looked good tonight. CJ killing it.
Go Braves!
This is a good idea. Hale has had a fine year, excellent, even. All he does is get guys out. I'm not sour on Minor, long-term, but when he pitches up he is very hittable and has a bad gopher streak.
Minor's forearm/hand position is a little sloppy for my liking. He's slack until almost release time and then kind of whips it. Last year he was closing consistently, this year he isn't and he's upstairs a lot. It's kind of like a golfer whose club face doesn't quite close at impact. Anybody else see this or have any thoughts?
Except that isn't really accurate. Minor pitched fantastic from the first start of June 2012 to his first start June 2014. Over that 2 yr period he maintained a 3.07 ERA over 362 innings. Hell, just this season he had an ERA of 3.07 merely 1.5 months ago. And what he did at the start of his career isn't all that relevant. Players get better as they progress. What he's done over his last 18 months is more of an indicator of future performance than the 18 months prior to that.
So yes, I think there is plenty enough to base Minor's future on. In all likelihood he will bounce back and finish out the season somewhere closer to his career averages.

At this point something is wrong with Minor. Personally I would send him to AAA and let Hale fill the spot, Hale has been better as a starter than Minor has this season. Get Minor fixed in Gwinnett, not throwing him out there every 5 days
