    MINORS FINAL 7/30: A PHENOM'S PROGRESS

There are small signs that Braxton Davidson, the Braves' No. 1 choice, is getting it.

He's hit safely in four of his last five games, a modest 6-17, but among those hits are his first four pro doubles. He's also only struck out four times in his last seven games, slowing that early pace. Best of all, he walked six times in his last six games after zero walks in his first 18 pro games.

His strike zone and bat control were what was touted about him upon his signing.

You know, we're still waiting for Victor Reyes' first pro HR after 887 professional at-bats, including 332 this year. Bet we won't have to wait nearly as long for Davidson to find the range.
