Curious what we gave but it at least helps. Russell is solid, not great. I know some of you hate on Bonifacio but he's a solid bench piece that will be an upgrade over Schafer.

When in the hell was Caratini going to play for the Braves, with Gattis, and Bethancourt already there. That's what prospects are for, you used not a very highly touted prospect to fill two needs. It's a win win deal.

A bit pricier than I thought those two would be, but I remember the meltdown when we traded Max Ramirez for Bob Wickman. About the same here in terms of prospect value.

I think the other thing on Caratini is whether or not he will stay at C over the long term.

Carantini is a much better catcher than Gattis and has world's more offensive upside than Bethancourt. He's in the mold of a Brian McCann Jorge Posado type catcher.
