    2014 fantasy football

Just had an auction last night. 12 team league and a 100 dollar buy in. I am the defending champ as well. Everyone gets a 200 dollar budget to fill you entire team with.

    QB: Kaepernick
    RB: Gore
    RB: Spiller
    WR: Keenan Allen
    WR: Antonio Brown
    TE: VD
    RB/WR: Kendall Wright
    PK: Tucker
    D/ST: Rams

Cooks, Hyde, Fred Jackson, Boldin, Mike Wallace, and Mike Evans.

I could have probably had a better bench, but I wanted to take a flier on Evans and Cooks.

Well it was an auction. So there were no picks per se.

Looks like you drafted as a 49rs fan. Not a great strategy. I don't see any fantasy studs in that lineup at all.

Thats my thinking to. I mean you have 2 very good (not great) starting WR's. Two average RBs. An average QB (fantasy wise). If it's PPR, then Kendall Wright makes a nice Flex. If not, then he's pretty average)

I suspect you probably spent too much on Kaep and VD. I realize you're a fan, but you could likely get similar production for much less cost (especially in the case of VD).

I hate having a QB and RB from the same team (I especially hate having a QB, RB, and a WR/TE from the same team). Really hurts scoring potential.

So... after pondering your lineup...you are going to have a QB, RB1, and TE on bye at one time, only to have Spiller and Jackson on bye at the same time the next week. Brutal.

I don't know about that, I lead the league in points and I had PManning, DThomas, JThomas and NMoreno and the bye week I had cutler, Wallace and Forte (my main back). of course I am a diehard fan too. Well I didn't get them all this time. I got lucky in getting Peyton M. as the #6 pick, but lost DThomas, picked up JThomas on my 3rd pick and I got M. Ball as my 2nd pick. So only 3 Broncos this time, but I got Cutler again as my backup QB.

I think its safe to say the 2014 49rs won't set the league record in scoring. It is a run first option, mostly based on ball control. The 2013 Broncos were a TD factory. Kaep is not Manning.

Once again this was not a draft. I had Kaepernick, Gore, VD, and 49ers defense last year and won it all.

This is a PPR league which makes Wright and Brown very good options. Allen and Brown are both legit number 1's and are featured in their offenses. I know I don't have a stud as many of you see, but you need to understand the difference between an auction league and a draft. My strategy was to be more balanced than top heavy. Some guys spent over half their budget on two players and yes they got stars, but the rest of their team is very mediocre.

I know I need help at the running back position. That is my only gripe.

Probably my main gripe would be VD (depending on what you paid of course). I mean if you got him on the cheap, that's fine. But I imagine since he is regularly being drafted over ADP in regular drafts, that you likely didn't get him on the cheap. Guys like Dennis Pitta, Kyle Rudolf, Heath Miller, Greg Olsen, Antonio Gates, or Jordan Reed are all likely to put up similar or better #'s to VD and likely to be much cheaper options. With Crabs back and them being a run centric offense anyways, I wouldn't expect the type of yardage he put up last season. Though obviously he's still a good red zone threat and should get his share of TDs.

Got a live draft this Saturday night. 13 team league with weekly payout for highest point scoring for the week. Can use a QB in the flex, and they go FAST.

That's an interesting concept. So only the weekly high scoring team gets paid?

Small payout, only 40$ a week, but it keeps people paying attention and lineups optimized. Still pays 1,2,3 at the end.

    That's a cool idea though.

I made a trade in that league. I traded Cooks and got Stills and Randle in return.

If the trade goes through, this could be my starting lineup.

    Brady
    Forte
    Gio
    Marshall
    Floyd (Arz)
    VD
    Doug Martin
    Gould
    Saints D

    Gonna try and land Dez.

    12-teamer.
