I don't root for Tiger or Phil. Don't like either. But, Phil just put in an amazing round. Wow.

I played Friday in a best ball tourney. Won the tourney with a 55.

Anything that gets you away from thinking about the Braves is probably a good thing.

Why would you spend so much time cleaning clubs? Just dip it in the cleaner on the course and use a brush. Wa la.

Plus, you are nowhere near good enough that a dirty club vs. a clean one would make a difference.

No they don't, and besides it doesn't matter what the average duffer says. Tiger is #1 in the world.

Name me one other pro golfer you've ever heard say that on live TV. Tiger gets away with too much poor behavior because he's more popular than Mickey Mouse.

Golf has come in handy for business clients... It's a great way to "take a day off" and get some major work accomplished.

In two year, I've gon from averaging high 90's to low 80's. Scored a 78 a month ago.

Its just something I took enjoyment out of. I know it won't make a difference but its nice to have shiny new clubs again!

Yeah, I did it initially for business purposes when I took up golf late last summer. I'm already going to be golfing with a client in a few weeks. Anyone in business should learn to golf.

I disagree will GF on this. A dirty club probably won't make much difference on one shot, but the little things will make a difference in golf. Golf is all about the pre-shot process - getting yardage, good stance, grip, relaxing, not being too aggressive, etc, etc. You've got to put your best swing on it and using a club with clean grooves is part of that because once you've hit the ball you have NO control. If you focus too much on the end result you'll just end up cursing, throwing clubs and making yourself miserable.

I say pretend you are about 10 strokes better than you actually are and keep those clubs clean.

Yes, it does. But, you are talking about someone that doesn't break 100. Really, clean grooves are the last thing people shooting 100 need to worry about. Though, like I said, just bruch it off after hitting a shot is keeping the grooves clean enough.

Gotta disagree with Giles here. While clean clubs may or may not produce better results on contact, any golfer knows that the mental game is the most important part of your game. If clean, new looking clubs make you feel better about your game and give you more confidence, then that itself is probably worth a few less strokes in a round.

Completely agree. Pride and respect for the game means more care and diligent attention to the details, which is huge in any sport you take seriously. This directly translates into more focus and less careless mistakes.

Japanese players never spit on the field or litter up the dugout. They consider both sacred.

I played a round last week, first time in years, and had a blast even though I had to use a pull cart. The course has a "no carry bag" rule, which sucks.

I've read Bubba's bio. Nice story but apparently he's such a dick in real life that even UGAout alumnus don't like claiming him as one of them.

Although I hear Mickelson is a bigger dick irl.
