That's what I've been saying all year. I live in NYC so I know how unrelenting the media is out here. I wish the cream puff media in Atlanta would take some of these guys to task.

Kris Medlen indicated after Tuesday's game that he knows he knows he could be moved to the bullpen.
Medlen allowed four runs over 5 1/3 innings Tuesday against the Mets for his third straight loss. With Alex Wood and Brandon Beachy both expected to join the Braves' rotation in the next week, the clock is ticking on him as a starter. "I know it's been brought up," said Medlen. "I said I don't want to go to the 'pen, but I didn't say I wouldn't go to the 'pen. I think there's a difference. If they think that is where I'll be most effective to help the team win, then obviously I'm going to do that." Medlen is slated to make his next start Sunday against the Cardinals, but a change could come after that. Fantasy owners should get a backup plan in place.

Our season comes down to those two. We have enough other pieces to overcome the the black holes Uggla and BJ. But it starts and ends with Heyward and Justin. If they hit, we go far. If they don't, we lose very quickly in the playoffs if we get there.

I'm not defending Medlen's shaky outings of late, but you can't rely on non-ace pitchers to go out and shut the other team down every single game.

With this team (this year), I think Medlen has more value in the bullpen (replaced by Beachy).

The only thing that would scare me away from putting Medlen in the bullpen, or at least late in games, is that he's had a bit of a problem putting guys away with two strikes lately, and walks have been a problem for him at times. It seems like the move is becoming more and more likely to happen though.

I can certainly agree with this. Depending on how we pitch.

I still think its ridiculous to call the team leader in hr a black hole. Dan Uggla isn't the problem.

Who cares if he leads the team in homers....he is not getting the job done consistently enough at the plate. Hitting under .200 is simply not acceptable especially for the $$ he is getting from Braves. I'm pretty sure Wren and Fredi envisioned more production from him when they acquired him. Of course he is not the only one who is coming up really short in the expected production.

Uggla likes to gives us up hope at the end of the season, but crush it at the start of the next
