The #Braves re-assign scouting director Tony DeMacio in their shakeup. The Braves still await John Hart's decision on whether to take GM job

Good. ****ing moron fired Tom Battista, who's only responsible for scouting and signing Freeman, Medlen, and Hanson.

Yeah, I was pissed when Wren fired Roy Clark just to get his boy in there. Nepotism usually doesn't turn out good results. I was hoping this was coming, though I'd prefer him just be gone completely.

Interested in who is gonna take over the head scouting role.

Wren didn't fire Roy Clark. Roy was wooed away by the Nationals.

DeMacio is a decent baseball guy (he did sign Tom Glavine during his first stint with the Braves), but the approach that has been advocated under Wren and company--and I am sure DeMacio had his input so he is also responsible--has left the organization fairly light in high ceiling guys.

I think they have clearly defined the problem with the upper levels of the scouting staff. There is a clear deviation from a tried and true philosophy that the team has used, and the team is making the necessary changes to get back to that philosophy.

Stan Kasten played a big role in getting Roy Clark, and now he's with the Dodgers. It has been rumored though that Wren didn't make a big push to keep Roy Clark, and I don't think Clark liked the direction the front office was going when it came to draft philosophy.

I remember it as he wanted to keep working with Kasten and the Nats offered him a promotion. Keith Law says he left because he didn't want to work with Wren and Manno though.

He may have left under duress, but he left of his own volition. He was not fired.
