Statistically he looks a lot like Heywood with more injuries. That's obviously a big red flag but even Cliff Floyd had a few healthy seasons in his prime.

The Mariners are desperate for RH power. I'm sure Justin and Gattis are high on their radar. I'm so curious to see what kind of trade value some of our guys have. Anyone think the Mariners would possibly consider Walker for Upton?

Upton already vetoed a trade to Seattle before the Diamondbacks dealt him to us. He won't likely be any more amenable to playing half the games of his walk year in stat-murdering Safeco, assuming the Mariners are still on his limited no-trade list.

Gattis is marketable to Seattle, but Walker is not on the table, I'm sure. They have some nice arms in the bullpen and some neat prospects most of us have never heard of because they're Seattle's.

Dodgers, Cubs, Pirates and Blue Jays are reported to have met with Russell Martin. Gives us an idea of who is looking for a catcher.

Outside of Gabriel Guerrero and DJ Peterson I really don't see them having too much interesting on the hitting side. Of course they've graduated a bunch recently, but Zunino, Franklin, and Miller haven't really panned out as expected yet.

Gattis for Joc Pederson? Bc if Heyward or Jup are traded it won't be for an outfielder it'll be for a pitcher.

I like Pederson. I think he will post a good obp and be a 20/20 hitter. Gattis is a proven commodity with legit HR power which is a premium in the game. I would want more than Pederson. The other prospect they have that fits our needs is Alex Gurrero. They are blocked in LA but I think both will be at least average players in 2015 and that's a big improvement over what we had the last 2 years.

As for Walker. They were willing to trade him 2 years ago and his stock has only fallen since then.

I would be all over Taijuan Walker if Seattle is interested in moving him in a hypothetical Gattis deal. Would also ask on Ackley.

They wouldnt do it but if you can get Joc for Gattis, you do it ASAP.

If we're taking power out of the lineup, we need to add power back in.

Not exactly, Giants and Royals didnt have much power and both made the WS.

I'll take out some power to add high OBP, work counts type of hitters.

The Giants also had Bumgarner and a good mix of power. We'll need a lot more than just one guy with high OBP added in.

If one of either Gattis or Justin leaves, the other needs to stay. They will be our true home run threats. I'd be down with trading Justin for a damn-good haul and keep Gattis. I'm completely down with moving him to left field, giving him this winter to work over there.

They had some power but alot of guys who can work the counts.

Posey, Belt, Panik, Craw, Panda, Blanco, Pagan, Pence.

Posey had 22, Pence had 20, and Panda had 16.

    Some power but not alot.

When is the last time the Braves traded legitimate talent for legitimate prospects?

Renteria for Jurrjens and Gorkys Hernandez. I miss typing those names.
