    Hint: I didn't.
So you hope we lose money but hope we win? So if we win, we are still a poorly run franchise?

Either way, that is some pretty awful logic.

Andruw didn't. Of course it may not matter since he's not American.

I hope fans don't show up and maybe ownership will realize what a disaster this team is.

And if the team still succeeds then it's still a disaster and fans shouldn't show up?

It seemed a poor attempt to play the race card and/or a poor attempt at humor, possibly both I guess.

You guys take this board too seriously. Especially Goldie.

It was a late night attempt at humor.

    Racist. Lol.

That attempt sucked. The board is full of nonsense, so you'll have to forgive a few of us who don't laugh. In any case, is this still the Upton trade thread?

One of the reasons (and I'm not saying it's a main reason, or a big reason) that our offense struggled was Justin himself. Last year he hit .228 with RISP with 51 Ks in 162 ABs. In 2013 he was at .243. Sorry, but that stuff hurts. SSS? Flukey? Ok, I can buy that. But it didn't help. For a relied upon run producer to hit that consistently poor with RISP over two seasons hurts. "Clutch," or timely, hits are so important in baseball, and honestly Justin did not come up with very many in his two years. I'm just saying it hurt us a least a little bit.

Wait, so, you mean to tell me your #4 hitter hitting .228 and .243 with RISP 2013 and 2014 didn't hurt at all?
That's my point, so if you disagree, explain why. But one would think those numbers aren't that good. Maybe you think they are.

Justin was poor with RISP. That's a fact. When your number 4 hitter doesn't hit well with RISP, it hurts. Again, point to sample size or flukes. I can hear it. But the raw numbers are what they are, and they aren't good.

I didnt watch all of our games, but 29 HR's, 100+ RBI's, Justin was our best hitter last year, come on.

There were lots of reasons the Braves decided to move on from Jason and Justin. With Justin more than anything it was about swinging and missing. Thats not where baseball is going. Its going back to a more traditional environment before PED's. Where players actually had to control the strike zone and sacrifice power to make contact.

Uh, that's going to make guys that can hit the ball over the fence that much more valuable. (which is why the guys in the 80s started hitting the roids)

Thats fine...you can have those players. I want guys that can put the bat on the ball consistently and make a pitcher work. I was guys that can take the extra base and make the plays in the field.

That's funny, because that's not what Gattis does. If the Braves loaded up on power hitters, you would be saying "I'm glad the Braves are loading up on power. Power guys will be invaluable going forward!"
