Further, Peavy could bring what we lost after Huddy left. His role on the staff would be much like Wagner's role was one year here. I really believe Wagner helped our young guns in the bullpen a lot too. So my hope with Peavy would be that he could do likewise in leading our young starting staff.
I have no problem bringing back Harang on a 1 year deal but definitely pass if he demands 2. Can't see any team offering him two though. Peavy would be awesome but most likely too expensive.

I think the organization needs to go farther—all the way up to the ownership level—as this highlights a long-term rational issue for the club. Maybe Warren Buffett?

Vogelsong also looks like a palatable option to me. We have Volquez, Peavy, Vogelsong and Harang still out there. I still think we will get a good price on one of those four.

I wouldn't go two years on Harang or Vogelsong. One year with an option would be ideal for those two.

The $ and/or years might be too much for #Braves right now, but Jake Peavy sure seems like he'd be good fit at back of their young rotation.

well scratch Volquez, and Peavy appears to be a lot more expensive than the other two. Who do you like more Harang or Vogelsong?

I'd take Harang, he's a hoss. No reason to expect he won't do what he did last year which was give us some innings and keep us in games about 3/4 of the time.

How about instead of signing a starter they just allocate that money to paying the rest of BJ'S contract so he doesn't drag down the 2017 team.

I'm surprised we couldn't do this one way or another. For example, given the fact the Cubs wanted La Stella, why couldn't we have done a trade along the lines of BJ plus La Stella for Edwin Jackson?

    I prefer Vogelsong. His xFIPs the past three seasons: 4.15, 4.50, 3.96. Harang's: 4.95, 4.38 and 4.03.

I'm fine with either on a one year or one year plus an option deal.

I hope at worst case BJ bounces back enough to where we can re-visit a BJ for EJ swap later this coming season.
