I agree... I would rank them in this order (from the one I'd to have most)
1. Zack Greinke
2. David Price
3. Johnny Cueto
4. Jordan Zimmerman
5. Jeff Samardzija
6. Doug Fister
7. Rick Porcello
I think a lot will depend on how we do this year, to see whether we go after one of these guys since all 7 of them should receive a qualifying offer. I would hope that we would at least entertain the idea of signing one of them no matter what, but if we have a protected pick next year -by finishing the 2015 season as one of the 10 worst teams (by records)- I feel like we have to sign a big name free agent since we will only lose a second round pick.

Floyd to Cleveland. Great pickup.
Has there EVER been a statement and question a certain someone should absolutely never have made and asked publicly more than...
Kinda pathetic to see yourself as a message board knight in shining armor. How impotent does someone have to be in real life to resort to playing hero on a message board?
It would be huge if we could bring back Harang.

The only downside risk would be a similar collapse in the second half due to mass starvation by the rest of the club. But I have reason to believe Fredi has studied last year's situation and come up with a solution. Perhaps by setting aside Laird's ration for the rest of the team.

I want no part in Harang, esp. on a two year deal. I'd be on board with signing Peavy to a two year deal though, if the money isn't crazy high. Further, Peavy could bring what we lost after Huddy left. His role on the staff would be much like Wagner's role was one year here. I really believe Wagner helped our young guns in the bullpen a lot too. So my hope with Peavy would be that he could do likewise in leading our young starting staff.
