Mike Smith could not possibly stay based on the final game alone. But it might be hard to hand a coach who did more good in his time. What and where can the Falcons turn to be able to fill their own new stadium come the time.

Looks like they are gonna interview just about everyone.
Behind SF, it's by far the best job available. They should have their choice of any coaches.
I would be good with just about any of the guys rumored (don't really like Gase though).
Also JOSH
I like Todd Bowles. That being said, I hope they go after someone who can coach but isn't a name. If you look at many great coaches they didn't have much fo a name before making it. ANdy Reid, Bill Belichick, Fox, Tomlin, John Harbaugh, etc. weren't big names before getting their first break. Meanwhile some huge names busted out big time. I don't want them to bring in a college kid, and I would be OK with keeping Kuetter, TIce, and even Nolan. But I have concerns about them if you can get someone better or a better fit for their coach.

I think what's important to note with Bowles that him being a "huge" name Isn't due to anything he does personality wise. He seems to me to be a no nonsense type of guy that players play for.
Schematics and play calling... Pshhh. Coordinators do that. I don't think the HC has as much influence on that other then the coordinators they hire. I just want a coach who won't blow games that gets buy in from players.
I have said in the past that I'm fine with all of our coordinators. I really want them to retain Koetter. I think he and Ryan have a good thing going. As soon as the offensive line solidified (I think it's almost there) and we bring in a better tight end then the offense will be where it needs to be.
nfl.com's Gregg Rosenthal thinks Atlanta is the most ideal because of RYan and Julio basically and less pressure.

Everyone in NY is saying it's Rex if he wants the job. Saying Blank wanted to hire him last time but TD wanted Smith.

Eh, it depends.....he needs to hire or keep a good OC and let them do their thing. There is no denying he is a great DC and players love playing for him and will run through a wall for him, which is key. His downfall in NY was picking horrible OCs and not having a QB along with Idzik giving him 0 talent on O the last 2 years.

Idzik was probably the worst GM for the last two years. They hit a homerun with Richardson but they were cutting 4th round picks early in the year. Not a good thing at all.
Natural Immunity Croc
Idzik was handcuffed by the last GM. Idziz was in an uphill battle to start with.
I'd take Rex. If he kept Our current OC or tried for Trestman Id be even higher on it. Rex has always fielded a tough D. Something we don't know much about. I think the situation was poor in NY. This would be a much better fit.

@vxmcclure23: Can confirm @ProFootballTalk report that the Bucs have an interest in Dirk Koetter, although there's been no contact.
I would be quite disappointed if he left.
As far as Ryan goes, how would he act WITH an actual NFL QB and WITH actual NFL quality WRs and a pretty good looking young RB?
I wouldn't be opposed to Rex. Just gotta rid of the foot fetishes.

Hopefully many more years of mediocrity at best.
